Perfect swimming temperature in the pool tonight. Nice, short recovery swim.
I'm so excited about the response to this mornings post and all the awesome ladies who want to join me for some open water swims! I love the insta community and cannot wait to meet more of you in person.
Gracias @noordinarybikes mi bici @cubebikesmx 🧡
Ruthie @ruthieschatz súper partner💪🏻, felicidades Champ!!!

I did my first Triathlon as a work experiment. I worked as a bike-fitter at the time and we had a lot of triathletes coming in, so I wanted to better understand them and how to adjust the fit. I signed up for a super-sprint with a pool swim. I could swim, but for leisure. I found out about a local, newly established tri-club and joined them to improve my swim and better understand what I've got myself into. The week before the race, I found out that the bike, I was told I could use, would not be available, so I bought a bike last minute and somehow ended up finishing in second.
You have to understand that I'm by no means an athlete. I've played sports and was always keen to try new things thanks to my dad, but I had never really competed. I fell in love with Triathlon, the longer distances especially. I don't like short distances as I often feel the race is over by the time I'm warmed up.
I liked it so much that I got myself a coaching qualification to be able to help more people find enjoyment in the sport. I really have to thank @hampsteadtri for all their support to me, both as coach and triathlete, and especially @danielbingham7511 for getting me to the start and finish lines of my first Ironman Triathlon. Triathlon has the best and most supportive community of all sports I've ever taken part in, and I've made friends for life. I've been through some hard stuff with a serious road accident on my bike, and a long and bumpy road to get the best job in the world as a firefighter. My tri-buddies have always been there for me; they have shown me that anything is possible, and I'm grateful that we're each other's heroes! ~ Helena Kvepa [@hk_140.6]
