Summer Time Feels! ☀️🍸☀️
Here is to the warmest day so far this year...
The “Summer Collins”
- 25 ml Edinburgh Gin
- 25 ml Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur
- 35 ml Lemon Juice
- 10 ml Simple Syrup
- Tonic Water
Shake first four ingredients with plenty of ice, strain into a Collins glass and top with Tonic. Garnish with an orange wedge and lemon grass and let summer flow down your throat ☀️
Yesterday’s joint shooting with Jan (@ginginginde) was a lot of fun. However, with so many things in mind and so little time, we did not get to mix everything we wanted... Since it already felt like the first day of summer anyway, I decided to continue back at my place - here’s what you missed, Jan 😉

I wanted to use my leftover tarragon in a drink, and I found this recipe on @thespruceeats - it hit the spot alright! 😆 Recipe by Gian Saetti at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua’s Alaloa Lounge in Maui 🏝
BOURBON AND BLOOD
1 oz blood orange liqueur (Solerno)
1 oz sweet vermouth (I used Cinzano)
1 oz bourbon (I used Wild Turkey 101)
2 dashes orange bitters (I used Angostura)
6 leaves fresh tarragon
Combine all ingredients and shake with ice (no muddling necessary, but shake even though there is no citrus to get some of the flavour out of the tarragon). Double strain into glass and garnish with orange peel.
I really enjoyed this drink! A wonderfully balanced, boozy sip, this went down all too easy. .
The Valinch takes its name from the tool used to extract samples from a maturing cask of whisky. Therefore it was a fitting name for this #Auchentoshan which is bottled at natural cask strength, uncoloured and unfiltered. This does not carry an age statement and is entirely matured in 1st fill Bourbon casks. The result is a light and delicate whisky with lots of citrus, honey, creme brulee and roasted nuts.
