Daily Divination: Sage
When this Sacred One appears, his message is to tap into your inner wisdom (he represents the wise one within) and contemplate what you discover in the process.
In the image, the Sage sits beneath a tree, appearing to be writing something, on what looks like a leaf with a pen made of a peacock feather. The tree is an important symbol here, representing one’s spiritual growth and development. With that in mind, the Sage offers that it might be time to chronicle your own spiritual growth and development in a way that is meaningful to you (like journaling, to give an example). Trees have roots, so consider the “roots” (foundation) of your own spirituality, and how it has grown and developed over time (trees take time to grow) to what it has become at this moment. What new leaves have you turned over in the process (the leaf the Sage is writing on)?
The peacock feather, as the instrument for writing, symbolizes vision and revelation (it has an “eye”), as well as awakening. Was there a pivotal moment (something “instrumental”) in your history that “woke you up,” that revealed knowledge to you that has now become a personal, profound spiritual truth?
If so, Sage is acknowledging that experience for you, as this card represents becoming more aware of yourself and your inner workings, because awareness serves to bring more clarity to all aspects of your life.
And because of this, Sage wants you to continue to be devoted and committed to your spiritual process, to your continued unfoldment, growth, and expansion. Make notes of your experiences, those moments when life has been your best and greatest spiritual teacher. And who knows? Sage, as well as your angels and ancestors, suggest that those collections of notes could very well become the spiritual teachings you impart to others along the way.
